Dates: June 16th-June 20th 2026
Location: The Industry Loft : 755 Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038
Time: 6:30pm-9:30pm
An exploration into the creation process of an original piece of work, as approached from the performer-creator lens. We will begin with a deep dive into the Viewpoints Technique created by Anne Bogart. The Viewpoints will lay the foundation of language we will need in order to explore the abstract world of devising. The latter half of the week we will explore composition work, proposals, and world building techniques when generating a new performance. You will discover techniques to free your bodies impulses, create dynamic stage images, and playful ways of connecting with the ensemble. This workshop is open to people with a strong foundation in theatre looking for new ways to approach the work. It is also open to those with no previous experience looking to jump into the unknown. Through the act of play we discover ourselves. To trust in a process, rather than always be working towards the final result. How do we remain present and inspired by what is happening now? Whether a performer, director, or avid theatre goer, I guarantee you will leave feeling more connected to your playful side and equipped with tools to create something worthwhile.
Cost: $250
